Gail, a Grandmother

This client had multiple generations of family photos that were being stored in numerous locations. Some were in albums, some in boxes, some in envelopes, and some in frames. If someone wanted to find a particular photo, it required a bit of searching. As a result, the photos usually just stayed in their relative locations, and they weren’t being used. Although the grandchildren live fairly close by and visit frequently, there was a lot about the grandparents’ earlier lives that they didn’t know. I advised the client that having the photos in order with descriptions would allow her and her husband to share the stories of their childhood and early adulthood. We were able to thin out the photos to a much smaller amount that would fit into one album with space for names, dates, and descriptions. Soon after this project was completed, during a family get together, the whole family looked through the album and enjoyed the stories that were shared. It was the priceless result of a few hours of organization.
